Tuberose of ’19 #poem

I bought myself a tuberose to honor that of ‘17

(the only stem that could take me from hell to now)

that’s what I see inside the pearly little roses

(a freight car bearing all whiffs of life)

burst on a twisted-heading-to-the-essence rod 

(their perfume- instants from another life of sealed emotions).

I bought myself a tuberose to empty the old cases.

 

An angled line of time unveils the godly love

(purged demons left behind)

those petalled pearls had to impart – the ocean’s call,

(the only light that wiped the darkest thoughts)

its purifying icy waves the truth restored

(the ocean of thy eyes).

A fact of life. I bought myself a tuberose the other day. Had nothing else in mind but its perfume. A powerful trigger for my memory that went straight into the past. Coincidence or not :), it was July 28, 2017 when I wrote the poem I’m referring to:
